True Heroes

We often forget the existence of the people who attends to our daily needs – those who provide protection to us, ensure the cleanliness of our community, those who are ready to assist us when we need a ride to the hospital …screen-shot-2016-09-15-at-21-28-11

I would like to shine the spotlight on the latter. The EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), made up of an ambulance driver and a paramedic, is always on standby, whether it’s a weekday or weekend, or a holiday.

They are always ready to carry out their jobs. You would have come across them at some point, on the roads or highways, as they rush to the scene of an accident or make house calls to assist those in need.

I met one such EMT team who have been at their jobs for more than five years now. Abdul Azim is an ambulance driver and also a trained paramedic, while his colleague Isha is a paramedic.

screen-shot-2016-09-15-at-21-29-53Azim was working in the food and beverage industry prior to this but switched career path as he wants to save people. Isha shares Azim’s sentiments, and both expressed that it is their honour to be able to help save someone’s life.

As they talk about their jobs, their passion is evident. They rush from one disaster to another emergency and do what they can to ensure someone’s survival. They are true heroes.
